Who We Are Together
More Than a Parish — A Family of Faith
Community is not incidental to the Christian life — it is essential to it. From the very beginning, the Church has gathered people together in the name of Christ, calling them not merely to private belief but to shared life: shared prayer, shared meals, shared service, and shared journey toward God.
At St. John the Baptist, our community life is rich with the particular character of rural Manitoba — close-knit, self-reliant, deeply attached to the land and to each other. We know our neighbours. We show up for one another. We celebrate together and grieve together. We are, in the truest sense, a family.

A vibrant group of women united in faith and service, carrying forward a century-old tradition of Catholic women's leadership, fellowship, and charitable work in the parish and community.
Knights of Columbus
Our local Knights of Columbus council provides Catholic men with a fraternal brotherhood grounded in charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism — and offers hands-on service to parish and community.
Scripture & Prayer Groups
Small groups that gather regularly for shared Scripture reading, faith-sharing, and intercessory prayer — an opportunity to go deeper in the Word and in relationship with fellow parishioners.
Youth Group
An active and welcoming group for teenagers and young adults — combining fun, fellowship, faith formation, and meaningful service into a community where young people truly belong.
Parish Council
An elected body of parishioners who assist the pastor in the governance and development of parish life — bringing the gifts, perspectives, and wisdom of the community to bear on parish discernment.
Volunteer Committees
From liturgy preparation to social events, cemetery care to building maintenance — dozens of parishioners give freely of their time and skills to keep our parish running beautifully.
Service & Volunteering
Called to Serve
Volunteering is not charity — it is vocation. When we give our time, skills, and energy to the parish and to our neighbours, we are living out the call of the Gospel in the most direct and tangible way. The parish of St. John the Baptist runs on the generous service of dozens of volunteers who give freely and cheerfully throughout the year.
Whether you have a few hours a month or a few days a year to offer, there is a place for your contribution. We welcome volunteers in liturgical ministry, faith formation, social events, grounds and building care, pastoral visiting, administrative support, and much more.
Every act of service — no matter how small it may seem — is a participation in the mission of Christ and a gift to the entire community.
